SALES CLERK (OUTDOOR RECREATION)

Major Duties

• Performs primarily receiving and disbursing cashier duties by selling a variety of merchandise items such as pre-packaged snacks, beverages, and candy.
• Operates cash register, ring up sales, receives money and makes change, processes credit card sale, or charges to member's account.
• Counts and balances cash register and completes required paperwork. At the of each tour of duty clears the cash register and turns over cash and supporting documents as instructed. Conducts daily inventories.
• Creates proper displays of goods; prices merchandise according to pricing guides; and maintains stock level. Assists with manual inventories on all merchandise and resale items on a monthly basis.
• Ensures proper opening and closing procedures of facility are followed.
• Maintains area in clean and orderly condition. Performs housekeeping duties in sales and storage areas. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

• Must have experience in clerical or office work.
• Experience in receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit or other processing of cash items, which includes direct handling of cash and use of cash accountability control methods is preferred.
• Must have the ability to perform common arithmetic problems and making change when receiving payments from customers. Progressively demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English; communicated both orally and in writing; and possess skills dealing with the public.
• Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
• U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation or a signed memorandum indicating the installation's decision on the 3-year residency requirement..
• Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
• Direct deposit is required.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• A probationary period may be required.
• Pre-employment requirements must be satisfactorily met prior to Entrance on Duty (EOD).
• Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
